Kylesku

Kylesku Bridge

Name from "caolas" - a kyle and "cumhamg" - narrow. (Gaelic)

Situated on the road north out of Assynt, the former ferry point is the site of a new(ish) and attractive bridge which opened in 1984. The Old Ferry Pier is the starting point for the various cruises, and the starting point for the boat trip to Kerrachar. There is the Kylesku Hotel on the pier which serves excellent bar food, and also a tiny Post office in a garden shed.
