Information on the village of Lochinver in Scotland.
Name from "Clash" - a river and "eas" - a waterfall. (Old Gaelic)
Right on the sands of a wide and open bay (NC 056308), this group of houses has little to offer apart from the peace and quiet, and a phone box!
It is, however, the start of a short but pleasant walk up to a waterfall, which after heavy rain can be spectacular.
Park at the roadside on the inland side and follow the pathway/track which heads up the valley, going south.
